Hello friends
I just wanted to remind you of the joy you can have during this season even though you may no longer have a sweetheart to celebrate this holiday with. If you are like me you can’t just ignore the holiday because the kids have school parties that you must prepare for so here is how I’m coping this season. I spent Friday night with a singles group having dinner at NLC here in Siloam Springs. It was wonderful to fellowship with others who love Jesus Christ as their lord and saviour. We enjoyed an elegant dinner, played a few games and generally enjoyed the company of fellow single adults. So during this season when we often get down and feel alone remember that the Lord is with you always and there are many other parents facing this day alone and participating in the festivities for their children’s sake. So enjoy the moments we don’t ever get to relive them with our children again and remember that no matter how broken we feel and how unloved or unlovable; Christ still loves us and will be here with us every step of the way from Feb 1st, to Feb 14th and all the days between and after. You don’t have to go it alone; he’s with you every step of the way. God Bless and Happy Valentine’s Day!

I haven’t posted much in the last few months. Things have gotten quite busy as often happens around the holidays, going back to school, etc. I’m excited to see what the new year has to offer and what wonderful new experiences we’ll have in the coming year. So hope you’ll stop in often and enjoy the posts about life, raising kids and following God.

It’s that hectic time of the year when everyone is in a rush to get school supplies, new clothes and meet up with friends they’ve missed from the summer. My children will start a new school year with lots of anticipation and a bit of anxiety about a new classroom, new teacher(s), possibly a new school and many other uncertainties that fill the first days of school.
For us parents, it’s a hectic time of year too with filling out all those forms with the same information over and over again until we feel like our fingers will fall off. We’ve got to get them back into school routines, early bedtimes and early mornings, time for homework and decide what after school activities we’ll take on this year. The pace is picking up and you have to jump back in or it will sweep you away. So if you’re like this mom remember to take a few minutes to catch your breath every once in awhile and do something nice for yourself. The one thing that I tend to forget as our routines get hectic again is making sure to recharge my batteries so I’m healthy and well to tend to those around me.
So welcome back everyone to a week filled with Open Houses, filling back packs and lunch boxes and trying to squeeze in those last few visits to the pool before it closes for the season!
Hang on it will be another wild ride this year filled with joy, sorrow, challenges, frustrations and all the excitement that comes from raising kids!
